Dr. Buckingham has kept in touch with some of those students for the 50-60 years since and has visited some of them in their homes. He was married to Carol for 37 years prior to her passing in 1986. He has since been married to Thelma Buckingham for 31 years and still counting. All along he has been attentive to grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also stays in touch with former patients several of whom he visited regularly until recently. He also had lunch monthly with former colleagues and staff.
